Progress that doesn't feel like getting anywhere

So. I've been knitting a whole lot more these past few days than last week. I got the second obnoxioius!orange sock finished - the literally shortest pair of socks I've made, yet they took probably the second longest out of the 6 pairs I've made. And that's what I finished.

I actually picked up Banff this afternoon and did some work on it, I'm still on the back, working the increases. This sweater looked so easy and quick - and well, it's easy, but it hasn't been going quickly. At first, it was me getting used to the homespun I'm using to make it - the loose weave of homespun can be annoying given how easily it 'splits' (I'm not even sure if you can call what it's doing splitting, but anyone who's worked with it should understand what I mean). I'm wondering if a different yarn would've been better and quicker to work with, but I really like the feel of Homespun once it's knitted into fabric - it's soft and it will make this a nice winter sweater.

The 'shapely tee' I am thinking of not adding in the bust shaping. It says if you're a size C cup or bigger, you should, but thanks to my weird body shape, my waist measurement is almost the same as my bust. -_- However, I did cast on the front last night and get past the bottom short row shaping - and this time, without the horrible experience with wrapped stitches that was my first two attempts at it. I still can't pick them up so they look right purl-wise, I don't think. Eh. So long as they look neat.

And of course, I poked at Clapotis some more. Now that I've got the second row dropped, I can see how this works better, but I'm losing interest in this for the time being.

Then there's the other two pair of socks on needles. Which I've done nothing to, along with the afghan that is now starting to make me feel guilty when I look at it.

So, I feel that even though I've made progress, I haven't really made any. I've knitted inches of a shirt and inches of a sweater and inches of clapotis and finished a sock, yet I still feel unaccomplished. Of course, this may just be the general craptacularity of other areas of my life leaking in, but meh.

Knitty.com's new edition is up... and I hate most of the patterns. An over abundance of tank-tops and tightly fitting t-shirts, and all of one clothing pattern that's in my size. Grrr. And what the FUCK is with the horrible 80's shrug-monstrosity that's on the 'cover'? Who the fuck would want one of those? Well. I like Mariposa (which is the only shirt that has instructions for my size) but I don't think it'd look right on me. I'd like Soleil if it was written in my size. I like the Cocktail Monkey purse, because it appeals to my sense of cheese and love of monkeys - but I never use purses.

Pictures pictures pictures. I should actually upload some of these and stick them in my next update, shouldn't I?
