These pictures do not do the following dyed yarn justice:

I'm doing this backwards. This is the second skein dyed.

Gekiai!Lida colored sock yarn. Unfortunately, I'm afraid most people around here will think they're UM socks or something.
Wilton icing dyes = 8 billion times better than dying wool with koolaid. The colors are more vibrant. You use less for the amount you pay. There's better color selection. Oh, god, I'm using wilton dyes from now on. The above two pictures really don't give you an idea of how bright the yarns are.

And a finished sock from Knitpick's sock yarn. Is good stuff, only problem being that you can't toss it in the washing machine.
So, I'm thinking of buying a good bit of white sock yarn, dying it up and tossing it on ebay to see how it sells. I may put the orange-blue-green-yellow skein up and see if I get any hits. Bright, colorful sock yarn is rare, or if you can find it, expensive.
In other news, my plans to cosplay Aya have resulted in my ordering some bright red yarn in attempts to knit and felt the beret. I've never felted before, so this should be an interesting experience.
Also, I signed up for the sockapal2za. It's basically a thing where you get a secret buddy and you knit socks for them while someone's knitting socks for you. I put myself in the beginner category, because even though I've knitted socks before, I've never really knitted any for another person. But anyway, there's a button in the sidebar that links back to it.
