not dead

Long time no write or whatever. Long month. I actually finished some shit.

I should mention that I lost (seemingly for good) my first ever sock this month. I just finally figured out what to do with the second of the pair:

The Mango now has a lovely cast cover.

You may also notice that I am no longer fucking around with blogger's picture uploader because it fucking drives me nuts. So.

Other finished shit: A washcloth (why yes, I broke my 'no starting new projects this month' rule because I needed something quick and mindless), how exciting. Somewhat more exciting is my Clapotis is finally done:

Sitting on the back of my computer chair. Where it'll probably stay until it gets cold enough this winter that I go 'dammit, my shoulders are freezing'. On the right side of it, you can see the mismatched yarn. I'm not really all that upset or even really care about it, since this thing will most likely never leave the house anyway.

Aya beret: Felted several times, it is complete. So you get a pic, along with a picture of me testing out makeup for the cosplay. I don't normally look like this - I've covered up all my freckles with a cover-up stick and I never wear makeup (not to mention I've got the hat on the wrong side of my head), but hey, whatever:

Last but not least, I've finished one sockpal2za sock and have turned the heel, finished the gusset, and am working my way down the foot on the second. Here's a pic of the first one and part of the second:

Saturday before last, I went on a trip with the local SnB group to Gainesville for a spinning demo and a trip to a yarn shop. I now have a drop spindle (but no fiber to spin) and managed not to buy anything in the store - mostly because they were out of both ballwinders and size 2 dpns.

excellent beret. also an excellent use for a sad lone sock, and it makes for such a stylish dog too!
