So, I have actually done some stuff in regards to knitting in the past week. For starters, one Dulaan mitten finished, the second started. While at my parents' house for labor day, I also finished the second of my Lida-colored gekiai merry-go-round theme socks. >_> I will have pictures, uh, eventually.

I'm all tired and crap, because going to my parents house basically means I sacrificed my 3-day weekend which would have otherwise been spent sleeping, playing city of heroes - issue 5 is out, has been for days and I still have not been able to log on and check out the new blaster types T_T - knitting, and generally decompressing.

On the upside, I now have a sewing machine, pattern, and 7 1/2 yards of lace for my Aya Love is Dead cosplay. Now I just need to start harrassing people for reference pictures.

But I'm digressing.

Never go on a yarn diet, especially if it's a sock yarn diet. I think I've prooved (suddenly I can't spell this word, don't mind me) it over the last month. I went to the yarn store in Tampa called Knit n Nibble, and they had Opal sock yarn in Rainforest colors... so of course I ended up buying the angelfish one as well as a skein that looks rather similar to the ones I made for my sock pal for sockapal2za (rainbowy and all clowntastic). Add that to the number of other skeins I bought (KPPM, Lorna's Laces, Langjawool or something like that, Fortissima Disco) in the past month... sock yarn diets work for a few weeks and then you find yourself screaming in a fit and buying a crapload.

My mom also bought some yarn - she wants me to knit a dropstitch scarf for one of my aunts.

I've been thinking about dying yarn, as well, shock of shocks. I've got two skeins of the merino sockyarn from knitpicks and I'm pondering what to do with it. I still haven't posted pictures of the last two I dyed... I should. I will, I swear. My brain is going 'ooh, ooh, metronome themed!' the problem with this is that they will look like bumblebee socks if I do only black and yellow. Not that I have black dye right now, anyway... maybe if I put silver in as well. Silver is much more old-school metronome than their newer uniforms. I may be redying the one I named 'garden' as well, because the colors are far too pastel for me. Maa, we'll see.

I'm also pondering what else I should put in the package for my sockpal from sockpal2za. Big hint giveaway here, but she was in New Orleans and got hit by the hurricane. Even if that weren't the case, I'd feel cheap if all I sent was the finished socks, you know?
