I want to make this. Yes. It comes in a size big enough, and I like the pattern. I will not make mine in orange - I think it'd look terrible on me. Because Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride worsted costs about $7 a skein and I will need 10 skeins, I think I will probably make it with Wool of the Andes instead. Because I can order 18 skeins from them and spend only $35 or so, instead of $70.
The problem now is, what color? I like Avocado -oh, big shock that, me liking green - but it might be too obnoxiously bright a color for me to wear. And I know knitpicks colors can be a little off from what shows up on the computer screen. So, I'm thinking... I may have to order a sample card of their colors, first.
Well, there are other problems beyond that. Namely, I should really finish the various projects I already have started, first. Like the Dulaan sweater, or the shapely t, or Banff, or the irish hiking scarf or the lace scarf for my granma and you know, I should probably rip that afghan out since I don't think I'll ever finish it.
I could get this stuff done, I know I could. The problem is, socks. I knit them way too much. I have 5 on the needles right now. As soon as I finish a sock and cast it off, I'll cast a new one on those needles I just liberated. Why? Because the same basic sock pattern is easy and I have it memorized and it does not require any major thought. So, when I come home from work at the end of the day, usually tired as hell and brain-fried - One of the things that really sucks about Aspergers is coming home from dealing with people always leaves me halfway to overload - I want something that is mindless yet productive. So, socks.
This is why I usually only work on the lace scarf for my granma on weekends.
So, I suppose I have time to wait and ponder color choice for Samus.
I need to prioritize my knitting, very badly so. Socks should be shifted to an 'only at work' or 'not at home' project. I need to find my crochet hook and weave in the ends on the scarf for my aunt... not that there's a rush on that, as my parents aren't goin to Arizona this month after all, so I no longer have a deadline... and besides, it'll make a nice Xmas gift. Then, the lace scarf. That too can become an Xmas gift. Then... The shapely t? I'm so fucking close to finished with it, I swear. The front has maybe 5 more rows before the neck and armhole decreases, and then the sleeves and seaming. But I've really lost interest in it lately... so, it'll be that or Banff. The dulaan sweater - well, I've got until July 2006 to get those done. I have several small to medium sized boxes I've been collecting from packages. My goal is to send them off once I have enough finished items to fill a box, rinse and repeat. Right now, I've got 2 1/2 pairs of mittens and the half of the front of a child's sweater.
I should also mention that I am really craving doing something with lace. I know, my experiences so far have been... marginally successful. I keep seeing patterns I like, but they're always in a book, and I really don't want to spend $20-$30 for one pattern.
