I got a lot of nice comments on my finished sockpal socks. Thanks!
So, seeing as I am posting at work and my camera (and knitting) is at home, this'll be one of them pictureless posts.
I have, since my last posting, started a project spectrum color themed sock. It's in the yellow-orange-pink colorway of regia in the post below, just a simple rib cuff so far. I also completed a dishcloth out of some yellow/green/white cotton I found at the store... I like dishcloths. The pattern I use is always simple, and it's fairly mindless. It's nice for when you need something to keep your hands busy but you don't want to think past 'knit 2, yarn over, knit to end of row'.
I've also started knitting the second of my orange/purple/white hand-dyed self striping socks. The other one was finished months ago and has been left to languish... well, orange is a color this month, so I might as well work on it!
Finally, a simple 2x2 rib scarf for a friend is half-way finished. I'm also working on a related project, but it's only barely on the needles (20 rows in) and I kinda-sorta want to keep it as an unexpected surprise.
But the reality is, I haven't been doing an abundance of knitting lately. My arms and wrists always hurt. I'm in constant awe of the people who finish sweaters in the space of 2 weeks - unlike me, they must have a lot more free time or a job that isn't rough on their wrists. Most of my knitting now gets done either on weekends or maybe a few rows at night after work. It's nice to have something to do that's productive while I watch various doramas on my computer.
Speaking of which, the two I'm watching currently are Kisarazu Cats Eye and Goong. Kisarazu Cats Eye is a pretty funny show about members of a baseball team deciding that since one of their members is due to die in about 6 months from cancer, they should just steal as much shit as possible. Really, I first got interested in it when I found out Sato Ryuta was in it and he had absolutely ridiculous hair (he had a bit part in Kimi wa Petto, where he also had very silly looking hair). And then Goong is a Korean dorama which seems to be astoundingly popular... about how a promise made between the king and a regular man has resulted in a politically motivated marriage between one of the princes of Korea and an average girl. Hilarity and angst alternatingly ensue, but the main character is so charasmatic that even though this isn't the sort of show that appeals to me, I'm interested. Not to mention, the visuals of the show are so damn pretty.
