Things that are yellow and orange

Well, I went on the porch before work (when the sun's still out) to try to take a picture of the washcloth I finished, since it's got yellow in it. You can see it in the chair - why take a closeup when everyone knows what a washcloth looks like anyway, and there are no fancy stitch patterns going on? Then I realise, hey, you know what? The Mango is orange. Unfortunately, The Mango also went 'HAY I HEAR BURDS' at the last moment, so her head is blurry. Ghengis decided to come investigate, too. -_- Ghengis, you can come back in the 'neutrals' month when you apply to the color theme. I also just noticed the bug candle in the background is yellow and orange, too.

Of course, I was also going to take advantage of the time of day to get a good picture of the sock I've started, too.

Hey Lyme! Dalequan here. I've been trying to teach myself to knit for years and it just isn't working. I can crochet though. 1 hook vs 2 needles. I really want to learn how to knit do you have any books or video's you'd reccomend. No one in my family knits so...can't go there.

I've got the opposite problem... could never get the hang of crochet, but knitting was easy. I know http://www.knittinghelp.com/ has videos online of how to do all sorts of things from casting on to knit and purl stitches to decreasing, increasing, etc... it's nice, because sometimes you need to SEE what needs to be done before you can understand it. And one of the books I bought when I was first starting was Stitch n Bitch, partially because it walks you through how to learn the process and it also has patterns.

Thank you for the advice. I went to Amazon.com and ordered the book. I am now sitting here watching the videos and attempting to learn this knitting animal.
