ScaperCon 2001 Coverage!

Pics and a short run-down of the stuff I did! If I've forgotten a name of someone in a pic or gotten it wrong - let me know! People I don't recognize or I am not sure of have a question mark next to them... There were so many people there, I've forgotten some of you! Click on the day to see the corresponding pics!

Thursday: My plane got in around 5:45 PM, where I was picked up at the Dayton airport by dhenry, who was also getting drums for the band DrSandor was trying to set up. We got to the airport, where I met my roommates (Dani and Shan) just as they were coming back from King's Island. I dropped my stuff in the room, followed them to the bar... met more people. Lots of hugging (my god, Scapers hug a LOT!). Later, we went to AutumnH's room to watch the wrapchat on her laptop. A few hours later, back to the bar, more meeting people, and even MORE hugging. A lot of people got in on Thursday night, so there were quite a few of us up until 3 AM or later waiting for everyone to get in!

Friday: Up really early, after about 3 hours worth of sleep. A bunch of us were planning to go to King's Island... I rode up with Quinn, Chevy, and his two kids, Chris and Brian. Rollercoasters, rollercoasters, etc, etc. Spent a lot of the day with aughra on coasters because we couldn't find everyone else (GRRR!). Later, back to the hotel. I got a shower, came downstairs, and met... MORE PEOPLE! Then, people started gathering for the ep viewing... I was there an hour early, of course, to catch I-Man... then Farscape started! WOOHOO! There is nothing like being in the same room with about a hundred scapers watching a new ep... especially if you're sitting with the shippers! After that, I wandered around, passed out in the hotel atrium a few times from being dead tired... but made it thru the second showing in the bar and went to bed around 1 AM.

Saturday: Up fairly early... but I did get 7 whole hours of sleep! Grabbed breakfast, went through con registration and the opening ceremonies, where I drooled over some of the prizes that would be handed out earlier. Then I went to the SACC meeting, witnessed DRAyKE's oboe lesson... then to the FA meeting and Snurch and Procure, then trivia and the tail end of Scapespeare... and then, the Shippers meeting! Then I did some more stuff which I cannot remember for the LIFE of me... until I went up and got cleaned up and dressed for the banquet. I came back down, ate (well, I ate mostly rolls and pie - I didn't like ANY of the food they had). We had Nickless' videos... which ROCKED! (I even got me a copy!) and the talent show, which culminated in the debut of Electromagnetic Candy - the band Doc Sandor threw together at the last moment with Phil and Vampton. OH! And I won the Zhaan doll ValleyOfStags made! After this, the dancing began! I hung around with PK, got assgrabbed (O_o) a few times, stopped into chat... then went back downstairs and decided that were people who danced worse than me, so it was okay for me to dance! and I did! Yes, I even danced to the closing number... they did the Time Warp! I know how to do that dance! Then I hung around with Pk, Phantom82, Mortaneous, and EndersShadow for a while, until some of us decided we wanted to go swimming around 3 AM. Unfortunately, the pool was closed, so it was around here I decided to go grab some sleep. Oh, yeah, and there was a round of Lyme v. Her Hair, which resulted in me yanking out a large clump of it...

Sunday: Wope up around 9-something, took a shower, went downstairs in time for Trivia, where I won first place (woohoo!) There was a costume contest, in which Phantom82, Mnem, JediKatie, and Bongo all won a prize. Then I was around a bit, watched someone's DVD in the webTV room, and grabbed lunch (my first and ONLY real meal during the whole weekend) with Fianna-Garou in the bar, and went in to watch PKs of the UT. Okay, some more lost time, then there were the closing ceremonies and raffles. I didn't win anything... but went up stairs, packed my stuff, and came to SpiderVixen and Chevy's room for the birthday party for voodoo, Mnem, Vi, Ocn, and Sidhesong. Afterwards, we headed off to see Planet of the Apes... man, we were the only things that saved that movie! There was much yelling of "MONKEY!", lots of porn references, and everyone had a Stark moment wen Ari went "My planet, your planet." Back to the hotel around 12:30, where most people pretty much partied.

Monday: Well, since I stayed up ALL Sunday night... I basically sat in the lobby, talked to people, etc, etc... until my cab arrived at 5 AM. And the freekin guy overcharged me by $35 more than what the hotel told me! ARGHHH! So, I got on my plane, which left at 6:45 AM, and arrived 15 minutes early... where my mom picked me up at DFW, I went home, and proceeded to sleep 19 hours out of the next 24.
